The first week of training took place from September 29 till October 4, 2002 at the Higher Economic School of the University of Economics and Finance in St. Petersburg. This week of training at the same time was a part of the final selection process for the participants to the further programme in the Netherlands. The Higher Economic School is located in the centre of the city, not far from Nevskiy Prospekt and the Kazanskiy Cathedral. Canal Griboedova, number 34 - the place we met each other for the first time.

The first week of training in St. Petersburg has become the beginning of our friendship. For short time this extremely beautiful but decayed city has rallied us despite of bad weather and intensive lectures.

Jorunn wrote us: "As the training is very much about teamwork and sharing experience, accommodation has been arranged for all the participants, so including those who live in and near St. Petersburg. During the training days you are expected to act as a member of a team. It is highly appreciated, if you also spend your evenings (and nights) as a group." We have justified her hopes. Really.
